Sweet Orange Chili Wings

Description

A sticky sweet & spicy orange glaze coats these crispy wings so well, perfect for wing night.  Guaranteed to quickly become one of your favorite recipes.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings
  • 1kg chicken wings
  • ½ teaspoon Mariandazi baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Gold 
  Sweet Orange Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Gold
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Sriracha
  • ¾ tablespoon cornstarch, mixed into 3 tablespoons of water.   
To serve
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Freshly chopped spring onion

Directions

Wings: Mix all the ingredients for the chicken wings together and marinate for at least an hour to overnight in the fridge. Bake wings at 220 degrees Celsius for 15 – 20 minutes on each side or air fry wings till cooked and crispy.
Sweet Orange Sauce: heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add ginger, and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients (except the corn flour mixture) and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes and add the corn flour mixture slowly till sauce thickens into a glaze (you can add the corn flour mixture slowly to desired consistency and lighten the consistency with water).
In a large pan, add chicken wings and toss with sauce, sesame seeds & chopped scallion. Serve immediately.
