Breakfast, tea time or dessert; this is any time snack.
Ingredients
Plain flour
Mariandazi
Warm water
Sugar
Salt
Evaporated milk
Eggs
Gold band
Gold fry
Icing sugar
Directions
STEP 1
In a mixing bowl, combine; flour, mariandazi, warm water, sugar, salt, evaporated milk, eggs and gold band. Combine and knead together until you for a firm dough (about 10 minutes). Set aside to rest for another 20 minutes.
STEP 2
Once rested, roll your dough out flat (a few centimeters). Cut you dough in to 2-inch diamond shapes and transfer to floured tray.
STEP 3
Heat your oil to medium high. Fry the beignets a few at a time until dark gold/brown and plump.
STEP 4
To serve, dust them with icing sugar alongside fresh fruit.
