Cola Glazed Pork chops with an arugula & apple side salad

Description

Ever thought of Cola as an ingredient to cook meat? These succulent pork chops have the perfect balance of sweet and savoury and is even better when barbecued.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 Tbsp garlic paste
  • Salt & pepper (To taste)
  • 1 ½ tsp Paprika
  • ¼ cup light soy sauce
  • 500g Porkchops
  • 1btl American Cola
  • 2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • ½ B Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
  • ½ pc Cucumbers (Peeled, Sliced)
  • 1pc Carrot (Optional)
  • ½ pc Coloured Peppers (Deseeded, Diced)
  • ½ pc White Onions (Diced/ Sliced)
  • 1pc Green/ Red apple (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 1pk Rocket leaves/ Mixed Lettuce
  • Lemon (Juiced)
  • 2Tbsp Honey
  • Olive Gold

Directions

Season pork chops with salt, pepper & Paprika. Rub garlic paste and Drizzle soy sauce then set aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan, add ginger paste and lightly sauté. Add cumin seeds and toast for 1 minute on low heat. Add American cola, oyster sauce and simmer on medium high heat until it reduces to half the quantity.
Add pork chops then honey and let it cook in the cola reduction for 15-20 minutes, Tossing on each side. Add Fresh parsley and serve hot with a side salad.
Arugula & Apple side salad
Drizzle lemon juice on apples to prevent them from oxidizing. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Season generously with salt & Pepper. Mix honey and lemon juice (add a tablespoon of mustard). Add olive oil and dress salad. Mix well allowing it to coat.
Add nuts, Mangoes, Avocados or cheese
